He began his career in Canada, founding SoftKey Software Products in 1986, which later became The Learning Company. Under his leadership, the company grew significantly and was sold for $4.2 billion.
In 2000, he established O’Leary Ventures, a venture capital platform that invests in various start-ups and early-stage companies. He co-founded Storage Now in 2003, which was acquired for $110 million, and later invested in Stream Global Services, sold for $820 million.
Kevin gained fame as a judge on the Canadian version of Dragon’s Den in 2006, known for his candid critiques. He joined the original cast of ABC’s Shark Tank in 2009, contributing to the show's success and earning multiple awards, including four Emmys. He also co-hosted The Discovery Channel’s Project Earth, focusing on innovative solutions to climate change.
Currently, Kevin chairs several companies, including O’Leary Ventures, Beanstox, and O’Shares Investments. He founded O’Leary Financial Group and serves as Chief Sommelier for O’Leary Fine Wines. Since 2021, he has been a strategic investor in WonderFi, a leading regulated crypto asset trading platform.
Kevin is passionate about financial education and has authored a bestselling book series. He has spoken at prestigious institutions like Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan, and addressed corporate audiences including Ernst & Young and ExxonMobil. He is also a member of the investment committee for the Hamilton Trust in Boston.
Kevin holds an honours degree in environmental studies and psychology from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.

- We’ll take your event details — topic, audience, budget, date, and location — and create a custom speaker proposal for you within 48 hours.
- If you already have someone in mind, that’s okay too; just let us know their name! Even if they aren't listed publicly on our website, we have a huge network and work with almost everyone.
- Once you've reviewed our speaker propsal and have selected and expert shortlist, we'll double check availability and fees with your chosen expert.
- You're welcome to have a chemistry call with the speaker before making the final decision, too.
- Next, we'll send out contracts to confirm the booking. One of our experienced event producers will liase with both you and the talent on the finer details, and arrange travel if necessary, taking the stress off your plate.

Virtual keynote fees in the UK and Europe typically start at £2,000, while in-person top-tier speakers can reach £25,000. In the US, virtual in-person fees range from $5,000 to over $100,000, depending on the speaker and format, such as after-dinner talks, conference keynotes, Q&As, or podcasts. Comedians generally start at £1,500 or $2,000 for a 20-minute set.
