Jim taught at a special needs school in London before pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, part of London's University of the Arts. His graduation piece, the 'Blindspot' range, was acquired by the CSM Museum & Study Collection in 2007.
His home decor works often incorporate fantasy and poetic elements, showcasing his passion for exploring the physicality of materials and creating original, visually beautiful, and refined concepts. He thoroughly enjoys every stage of the design process, from research and creative exploration to problem-solving, refinement, and execution. He constantly seeks new creative techniques to generate innovative ideas.
Jim's designs are influenced by observing people's behaviour within their local context, and his products often encourage users to reflect. Understanding and engaging with user psychology is a crucial aspect of his work. Jim is interested in applying these techniques to improve people's lives and is a member of the RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce).
In 2016, Jim founded the award winning exhibition 'Dyslexic Design' which challenged perceptions of dyslexia by accentuating its positive effects and its close association with creativity. He has collaborated with teams at Dyversity Lab and Amazing Dyslexics, and has also presented and interviewed with the Design Council.

In this session, Jim Rokos will explore the egg's multifunctional design, emphasising its critical role from the hen to the chick's emergence. Referencing Raymond Loewy's assertion that the egg's shape is optimal, Jim will challenge attendees to envision alternative designs tailored for each stage of the egg's journey. Participants will engage in creative exercises to design improved egg shapes and examine examples of egg biomimicry, ultimately enhancing their innovation skills.

- You're welcome to have a chemistry call with the speaker before making the final decision, too.
- Next, we'll send out contracts to confirm the booking. One of our experienced event producers will liase with both you and the talent on the finer details, and arrange travel if necessary, taking the stress off your plate.

While the speakers listed on our website may not have worked with PepTalk in the past, they are recognized professionals in the industry and known to engage in similar events and engagements. Virtual keynote fees in the UK and Europe typically start at £2,000, while in-person top-tier speakers can reach £25,000. In the US, virtual in-person fees range from $5,000 to over $100,000, depending on the speaker and format, such as after-dinner talks, conference keynotes, Q&As, or podcasts. Comedians generally start at £1,500 or $2,000 for a 20-minute set.
