Alexandra Shulman CBE spent 25 years shaping one of the world's most recognisable magazines, bringing a rare combination of cultural authority and personal candour to questions of identity, leadership, and how we present ourselves to the world.
Alexandra led British Vogue from 1992 to 2017, becoming the publication’s longest-serving Editor-in-Chief. Earlier, she became the first female editor of British GQ and later expanded Vogue’s digital presence through Vogue.co.uk, Vogue Video, and the Vogue Festival. She is also a Mail on Sunday columnist, bestselling author, and former trustee of major cultural institutions, including the National Portrait Gallery. She holds a CBE for services to magazines and an OBE for services to fashion journalism.
Her talks combine insight from fashion, publishing, and media with honest reflections on confidence, reinvention, and personal identity. Drawing on decades inside one of the world’s most influential magazines, Alexandra explains how culture, image, and leadership have evolved across generations, and why authenticity matters more than polished perfection. She speaks with warmth and clarity about navigating career change, public expectations, and modern womanhood.
Audiences leave with a sharper understanding of cultural trends, female leadership, and the relationship between identity and self-presentation. Her sessions also offer practical reflections on adapting to change, building confidence, and maintaining perspective in high-pressure industries.
Book Alexandra for thoughtful, culturally informed conversations that connect leadership, identity, media, and modern life.
Alexandra offers cultural insights drawn from 25 years at the heart of British fashion and media. That vantage point gives her an unusually clear view of how identity, self-expression, and public conversation have evolved and what those shifts mean for audiences today.
